Hatsune Miku - Melt

"メルト"
Uploaded December 7, 2007, with 9,358,239+ views
Produced by ryo

This song is about a shy girl who is in love with a boy. In her pursuit of him, she gets her bangs cut and hopes he will notice, all the while encouraging herself to look cute. Her love is pure; she says that she loves him for him and not because she is in love with being in love, but it would melt her to confess. Then, it rains. She has a collapsible umbrella in her bag, which she thought was too small, but the boy joins her under the umbrella of his own will. Heart pounding, she is so happy she could cry, because in Japan sharing an umbrella is a sign of shared feelings and associated with couples. When they reach the station, she almost tells him to hold her because she does not want to leave him, and can not believe herself.

Multiple Fanmade PVs for "Melt" exist; most of them feature Miku as the protagonist, acting out the events described by the song. The "boyfriend" character is often represented by a faceless person (a technique often used to represent "Master", or the VOCALOID user), or at times by KAITO.

The song was release as ryo's first single (メルト). It was also featured on the albums supercell, VOCALOID BEST from ニコニコ動画(あか), Hatsune Miku 5th Anniversary Best ~memories~, 初音ミク‐Project DIVA‐2nd NONSTOP MIX COLLECTION, and Hatsune Miku Best ~memories~.

"ぽっぴっぽー"
Official English: Vegetable Juice
Uploaded December 11, 2008, with 1,930,700+ views
Produced by Lamaze-P
"PoPiPo" is a catchy, almost non-sensical denpa song by Lamaze-P in which Hatsune Miku sings about her vegetable juice and how wonderful it is. She eventually picks a certain type of juice ("the green juice") as her favorite and recommends it to the listener. "PoPiPo" has become not only a popular Miku song but also a well-known meme, spawning countless covers by both other VOCALOIDs and human singers in various languages, as well as several fanmade PVs and parodies and even its own merchandise. Although the song is fairly popular on Nico Nico, it has become even more popular on YouTube; the top three most viewed uploads of the song there have a combined total of over 11 million views.

Following the widespread success of "PoPiPo", Lamaze-P composed Teto's version (ぽっぴっぽーMk-Ⅱ (Popipo MK-II)), Miku's English Version of the PoPiPo, Luka's Version and Rin's Version. It soon became apparent that the song would turn into a meme. Both the Japanese and English versions of Miku's PoPiPo made it into the Project DIVA games, as well as the Nico Hall of Fame (Japanese version only).

"Popipo" is featured in the albums EXIT TUNES PRESENTS Vocalostar feat. 初音ミク, EXIT TUNES PRESENTS THE COMPLETE BEST OF Lamaze-P, MIKUNOPOLIS in LOS ANGELES “はじめまして、初音ミクです”, POP THE 初音ミク, Vocalo Vision feat.初音ミク, 初音ミク: Project DIVA 2nd - NONSTOP MIX COLLECTION, and 初音ミクベスト ~impacts~. A remix by Ryu☆ is featured in EXIT TUNES PRESENTS SUPER PRODUCERS BEAT, and a jazz version by the Baguettes Ensemble is featured in The Vocaloid Jazz sessions Vol.2. Another remix, this one by NegibueP, is featured in SEB presents SUPER HATSUNE BEAT vol.1.

Finally, this song is featured in the medley "Nanairo no Nico Nico Douga" (七色のニコニコ動画).

.

"Before I knew the whole lyrics in English I imagined the lyrics were about something else. 'Please, distinguish me' impressed me a lot. I thought it was a scream for Distinguishing unique and special colors, as well as people. The palette consists of millions of colors yet some people can distinguish only few basic ones. It's same with people. There are billions of unique and extraordinary characters and personalities! Please, do not distinguish them and frame them! ^_^ Enjoy the full palette." -Alatharenn's comment on the MMD PV of the Palette.

This song is featured in Hatsune Miku -Project DIVA- extend and Hatsune Miku -Project DIVA- Arcade.
